This tune has been arranged and rearranged quite a lot, and frankly I had no inspiration for it other than to just play the thing straight. I gave it an honest go and hated what I had. Then I loosened up by playing some Bach and then doing some improvisation. I improvised on the Zelda theme and decided to record my improvisations instead, and this is what I have. I think the solo cello gives off the sense of loneliness. Link never really travels with any companions and almost always does all his hero stuff himself. It must be hard to brave some of those dark temples alone.
